A fern. A single fern can get you lots of fun. Mine serves me best when I am astonishing my female friends at the office. The astonishing factor is the sentence - “I am taking care of it by myself”. Girls are used to men, who can’t really care about anything. A baby, cat even an egg (in stupid highschool experiments) is not safe in our male hands. Our assistants are used to saying “***! Shame on you, look at your plant! Its dying”. Another one sentence “Don’t touch it, I will do it” makes them wonder whether I am normal ;).
Now lil bit about the caring itself.
A fern is ideal for an office space. It collects hostile negative ions out of the air. There is plenty of these around any electronic devices. It also likes to not be in direct sunlight. Its great in cubes or offices where you need to keep your curtains down because of blinding sunlight.
A clay-made bowl is the best pick for your fern. It should have a hole in the bottom. The fern breathes through the hole. Also clay-made bowl helps your fern to breathe through the whole surface of the bowl, what is not that easy with plastic or other bowl.
Watering a fern is a really important task. In air-conditioned rooms its best to check the humidity every day. It is good to have a water sprinkler and use it daily. Fern loves wet soil. If you are going on vacation, make sure to find someone reliable, who will water your fern.
In general thats all. I hope this short article will encourage you to buy your own fern. Watch out for the falling leafes stress and dry soil hickups.
Happy ferning!

Everyone was amazed at my chili pepper plant until a co-worker tried to kill the aphids by spraying something on it. It killed the aphids not one survived but neither did the plant.
I like ferns. Maybe I will try that next.
